Who am I? My name is Ekaterina. I am a mother of a now 10 year old California born boy, and it was his arrival that brought me into the incredible childbirth work! I was a graduate student in San Francisco when I found out about my pregnancy, and decided to walk the journey of being first-time pregnant and give birth in a foreign country on my own. Luckily, I had a doula to accompany me along the way. Ever since, I have been walking alongside women in similar situations. I had my Birth Doula training from Birthways Int. in Canada and started my practice there, then moved to Moscow and co-founded the Russian association of doulas, while supporting international women in their pregnancies and births. Since 2018 I have been serving the multi-lingual and multi-national community in Tbilisi, Georgia, which is my second Motherland. I also run a counselling & psychotherapy practice and work as a lactation consultant, in three languages: English, Russian and Spanish. My Georgian is not as fluent, but I'm slowly getting there:) |
